Summer poses a higher risk of heat-related dehydration—a condition caused by a lack of water in the body and one of the leading causes of kidney stones. John Muir Health, where many Pacific urology physicians practice, has enhanced their on-site kidney stone treatment with fixed site lithotripter for use when other therapies, including drinking lemonade, don’t work.
For 15 years, Dr. Long practiced adult and pediatric urology with extensive experience in robotic procedures and recently joined Pacific Urology at the San Ramon, Concord & Fremont locations. He received the Top Urologist recognition from the Oakland Magazine in 2014.

Urologists at Pacific Urology are the first in the San Francisco East Bay area to fuse magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with ultrasound prostate imaging creating a three-dimensional map of the patient’s prostate, allowing physicians to find dangerous cancers previously undetectable.
